We are recruiting and training bilingual volunteers to deliver healthcare-system navigation with confidentiality, professional boundaries, cultural humility, and trauma-informed, respectful communication across languages and cultures.
Who we're looking for
Healthcare professionals
Nurses, pharmacists, physicians, and allied health professionals: your clinical knowledge helps us explain the system accurately and in plain language.
Healthcare students
Medical, nursing, pharmacy, public health, and allied health students bring valuable, current knowledge.
Retired healthcare professionals
Your years of experience are exactly what newcomers need to understand a new system with confidence.
Settlement workers
Your knowledge of the newcomer journey helps connect healthcare navigation to the bigger picture.
Experienced newcomers
Having navigated the system yourself, you can guide others with empathy and firsthand insight.
Translators & interpreters
Help ensure information is accurate, natural, and culturally appropriate in both languages.
Educators
Support the design and delivery of clear, accessible bilingual educational materials and workshops.
Community members
No specific background required, just a commitment to bilingual, respectful, judgment-free support.
Volunteer training
Every volunteer receives training before supporting participants, covering:

Respectful communication across languages and cultures
Healthcare-professional advisors
Healthcare professionals may volunteer as advisors or content reviewers, helping ensure educational information is accurate and that program activities remain within appropriate non-clinical boundaries.
Peer navigators & ambassadors
Former program participants may eventually be invited to become peer navigators, volunteers, advisors, or community ambassadors, their lived experience helping the organization remain responsive to the actual needs of newcomers.
